Eye Camp

During the tenure of this mission, the BDF conducted around 500 mobile eye camp program in 110 sub-districts of 40 district of Bangladesh. The objectives of the vision care program is the intervention of eye care for cataracts surgery, minor eye surgery, diagnose uncorrected refractive errors, treatment and referral services for serious eye patients to the nearest specialized hospital for further treatment. The ambulant eye camp was organized in cooperation with district, sub-district administration, Local school, Union council, local NGOs; Club/Bazar committee and scout members spontaneously volunteer the success of the camp. Average eye patient per camp 1000 and average surgery 60 in each camp. During the camp the doctor conducts an awareness session at least for two hours in order to educate and motivate the village folk, eye patient care giver, local volunteers and community leaders regarding the preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
